H BEAM

The H beam takes its name as it is in the form of the alphabet H. The word HM refers to the H beam which exhibits the height and width ratio of the overhang and is commonly used in steel assembly.

The H beam is used in the construction of large buildings or bridges and due to the exceptionally wide and different cross-sectional areas the H beam can withstand greater load as compared to the I beam.
